Meet the Founders: Alexander & Petra

About Us
Rock Life was founded by Alexander and Petra, a married Christian couple from Southern California with a shared passion for helping individuals and families experience wholeness of mind and spirit through Christ.
Alexander and Petra both earned their bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hope International University in Fullerton, California, with academic backgrounds in human development, psychology-related studies, and biblical studies. While their education and professional experience inform their work, Rock Life operates as a lay counseling and biblical life coaching practice, not a licensed mental health clinic.
Their mission is to walk alongside people as they deepen their relationship with God, learn to submit their soul—mind, emotions, and will—to the Lord, and experience emotional and spiritual healing rooted in Scripture. They are passionate about helping people grow in spiritual maturity, emotional awareness, and identity in Christ, believing that true transformation flows from intimacy with God.
Alexander and Petra draw from a wide range of life and ministry experience, including service in the mental health field, missionary work helping plant a church in Australia, discipling their own children, and a personal commitment to live out the Great Commission. Their approach integrates biblical truth, emotional insight, and Spirit-led guidance, while consistently pointing clients back to direct dependence on God rather than on a counselor.
Rock Life is a team-based practice made up of lay biblical counselors, life coach counselors, interns, and experienced coaches at various stages of training and certification. All team members are trained within the same biblical framework, ethical boundaries, and Spirit-led model of care. Coaches receive ongoing supervision, spiritual covering, and continued education to ensure consistency, integrity, and alignment across the team.

While team members bring different levels of training and experience, all services remain within the scope of non-clinical life coach counseling and biblical lay counseling. We do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders, nor do we replace licensed mental health professionals when clinical care is needed.

Our Experience
With combined experience of over 6,000 hours client hours, Alexander & Petra have worked in the field of substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, severe mental disorders, depression, anxiety, crisis, and trauma. Before moving back to the states in 2022, Alexander and Petra were helping plant a church in Australia while at the same time practicing as psychotherapists at a private practice. In 2017, Petra helped kick start a Crisis Residential Treatment facility in Riverside County and held the position of Lead Therapist. Before that, she was working with clients who were looking to kick drug habits and heal from sexual assault traumas. After accruing her 3,000 clinical hours to become licensed, she felt the Lord tug her in another direction: Life Coaching! God was providing a way for her to move in spiritual healing as well as soul care. For Alexander, he started in 2018 working as a therapist for Crossroads Church. When they moved back to California, he began working towards his licensure at a private rehab facility. Seeing the need of continual spiritually healing in our world today, Alexander has also stepped away from pursuing his license. Now, both Alexander & Petra has stepped away from providing clinical therapy, and has moved into the field of life coaching and biblical lay counseling (counseling and coaching without diagnosing, but with the ability to move in their spiritual gifts, relationship skills, and prayer during session).
